Meghan King is opening up about how the Christmas holiday can have a downside, especially if you are a single mom.
The “Real Housewives Of Orange County” alum share three kids with her ex-husband Jim Edmonds. The former couple separated in 2021 after a prolonged divorce case.
This festive holiday, the TV personality brought Christmas cheer to Instagram while revealing how challenging the holiday was for her as a single mom of three.

The former sales representative spent the festive season with her three kids, Aspen, Hart, and Hayes, and she reinvented the Christmas date to be the 26th instead of the 25th.
To not ruin the Santa idea for her kids, the “Resale Royalty” star had to gift herself. In the reel shared on her Instagram page, King scurried around, gathering her old beauty products to fill her empty Christmas stockings.
Captioning the clip, the Bravo star highlighted the downside of being a single mom while pointing out that she didn’t want to ruin Christmas for her kids.
She wrote, “Thinking I’m killing it, and then I realize I’m a single mom, and there’s literally going to be nothing in my stocking tomorrow, and the kids will know, and Christmas will be ruined.”
King disclosed how her childhood imagination of Santa was ruined by her neighbor’s “mean older cousin, Alicia.” However, she didn’t want that to happen to her 6-year-old daughter, hence the filling up of her own stockings, as though Santa had gifted her.
“So I recycle, reduce, and reuse and let’s end this post with #sustainability,” the reality star confessed.
The mom of three further detailed her festive celebrations, sharing several images of her and her kids in all smiles. The adorable foursome was dressed in matching red Christmas-themed pajamas and surrounded by huge boxes of gifts.
“Made up our own Christmas on December 26, then played with our toy,” King captioned the post. “I stuck to 3 gifts per kid – so proud of myself for not overdoing it. As usual, we are all Christmased out and ready for routine again. But on another adventure we go! Austin or bust for NYE!”

This Christmas celebration comes a few weeks after the media sensation opened up about her “weird funk” feelings.
The podcaster explained her feelings to her followers on Instagram. “I’ve been in a funk lately,” King announced. “It’s a weird funk, I’m not depressed or worried or anything, I’m in a healthy romantic relationship, I’m loving being a mom more than ever, and things with work seem to be falling into place.”
The 38-year-old mom went on to shed more light on the feeling saying, “My funk has to do with my shifting role in the game of life, I’m so public all the time but lately I’ve been wondering if this is the route I want for my children.”
Additionally, she noted feeling inadequate due to being on social media for a while and being defensive. “I feel defensive even when it’s unnecessary, and I knew I needed to look within,” King explained.
Followers and friends of the media personality relayed that they had also experienced the funk and shed more light on it.
“Real Housewives of Orange County” star Tamra Judge could relate and commented, “I’m in the same funk my friend.”
One fan advised, “Just be yourself, you’re an amazing mother.. your down to Earth and your too hard on yourself. Keep your children out of the public and check occasionally on social media it can be so negative!”
The ‘RHOC’ Alum Detailed Her New Year’s Resolutions
With the new year around the corner, the “Say Yes to the Dress” star dished out some plans for the new year while urging her fans to participate. As previously reported, King told her followers that the New Year resolution everyone would need is her 2023 retreat.
“I’m hosting a getaway, a workshop, a retreat, um, a wellness retreat for spiritual wellness and mental wellness.” King announced in a clip.
The blonde-haired celeb guaranteed that there would be “masturbating” before revealing the event’s date, February 9 to 11.
She ended the announcement by saying that she believed the retreat would change their “entire lives,” including hers, “for the better.”
